Did you know that it is proven that parent involvement is priceless? Not only is it a great way to be more involved in your child's life, but studies have shown that schools would have to spend thousands of dollars per child to equal what parents can provide. I have attached a brochure I made on parent involvement. I hope it will motivate involvement in your child's education. Here, I have also provided you with some great links. If you are ever interested in volunteering at the school but you do not know where to start, please feel free to contact me. Our school can always use the help of our parents. Thank you so much for all of your support, it really makes a difference.

TIPS: Here are a Few Ways to be More Involved this Year!

Check your child's planner regularly (at least a few times a week). Check for assignments and any notes from school. **Remember** The planner should be signed over the weekend and ready for Monday morning.

Provide your child with a set homework time and place. Try to place them in an area that is quiet and can be free from distractions. Parents have a big influence on the completion of homework. Providing reminders and a time and place can ensure your child will be prepared for the next day at school. **I do not give homework on Fridays** PS. Keep up with the Homework page. I update the homework webpage weekly and I keep parents and students informed about upcoming tests and projects.

Encourage reading. We will be reading many novels in our class this year. Take your child to the local library. Create incentives for them to read! If you need help, please let me know. I will be more than willing to provide assistance.

Praise and encourage your child! If your child received a 12/20 on their first math assignment and then received a 14/20 on their next math assignment, Praise them! Let them know how proud you are that they have made improvements. Kids want to know their parents are proud of them.

Contact me immediately if your child is having any problems at school. Please do not let a problem build and do not hesitate to contact me. The sooner I am able to intervene, the better.
